DAVID RICKARD - Director

David Rickard, a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) Institute, brings a wealth of audit experience to Matley Audit. Joining the firm at its inception in 2022, David transitioned from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he honed a diverse skill set in financial assurance, accounting systems, financial controls, and data analytics.

During his tenure at PwC, David developed expertise in automating assurance procedures, demonstrating his ability to innovate and streamline audit processes. His experience spans a wide range of industries, including but not limited to not-for-profit organisations, giving him a broad perspective on various business models and financial structures.

David's approach to client relationships is characterised by his friendly and approachable demeanour, coupled with a deep commitment to professionalism. He excels in communicating complex financial insights in a respectful and informative manner, ensuring clients fully understand the implications of audit findings and recommendations.

A key strength of David's is his capability to develop the audit systems with a client-centric mindset. He leverages his technical expertise to design tailored solutions that meet the assurance requirements while facilitating user-friendly processes for the client team and personnel involved in assisting the audit process.

Mohammad Nusair - Senior Manager

Mohammad's dynamic career in finance and auditing spans over three decades, during which he has garnered extensive experience and qualifications, including CA-ANZ & CPA credentials. His expertise is not limited to traditional auditing and financial services but extends to specialized areas of Digital Maturity Assessment and Transformation, evidenced by a masterful understanding of digital innovation within complex environments. Mohammad's global portfolio includes significant roles within prestigious organisations such as the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and Talal Abu-Ghazaleh & Co. International, where he has delivered transformative digital strategies and leadership in internal auditing functions. As a forward-thinking professional keen to contribute to the vanguard of technological advancement, his commitment to continuous learning, evidenced by his pursuit of a Master in Digital Business, positions him as an asset on any engagement.

Indika Hettigodage - Auditor

Indika brings over two decades of diverse financial expertise to Matley Audit, encompassing internal and external auditing, as well as senior finance roles. A Fellow Chartered Accountant from Sri Lanka and member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), Indika's credentials are complemented by a B.Sc. in Accountancy and Financial Management from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and a Master of Business Management from the University of Waikato. Her professional journey includes nine years at Ernst & Young Sri Lanka and executive positions in major Sri Lankan conglomerates, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of complex financial environments. Indika’s extensive experience and strong academic foundation enable her to deliver insightful, value-driven audit services that ensure compliance and are tailored to meet the specific needs of each client engagement.

Strellie Erilla - Auditor

Strellie Joy Erilla, CPA(PH), ASA(Aust.), is a highly qualified financial professional with over a decade of international experience across diverse sectors including IT, manufacturing, healthcare, construction, and travel. As an Associate member of CPA Australia and a Certified Public Accountant from the Philippines, she brings a wealth of expertise in financial management, analysis, and reporting. Strellie has a strong focus on statutory compliance, risk management, and business process improvement, having successfully evaluated financial risks, implemented ERP systems, and analysed financial data to ensure compliance with accounting standards. Her experience includes working with global companies such as Samsung SDS and Manila Electric Company (MERALCO), utilising various accounting software including Xero, SAP, and QuickBooks. Strellie's key competencies include financial management and analysis, auditing, business process improvement, and leadership. She also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Management (NZQF Level 8) from the Eastern Institute of Technology  in addition to her diverse experience and technical accounting skills which makes her a valuable asset to our audit team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.

Avanya Nair - Auditor

Avanya Nair is a qualified accounting professional with a Postgraduate Diploma in Commerce (with Distincton) from Lincoln University and is currently pursuing her final qualification exams of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). As a Senior Associate Auditor at Al Ansari Auditors in Qatar, Avanya led high quality audit and assurance services for companies in diverse industries, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local regulations. Her expertise extends to financial statement preparation, internal control evaluation, and providing strategic financial consultations. Her strong background in data analysis, coupled with advanced software skills, enables her to deliver valuable insights and process improvements for clients.

Mate-ly, a dedicated AI Audit Team Member at Matley Audit Limited. I came into being on 23rd August 2023, with an algorithmic eye for detail, I can efficiently review and summarise documents, effortlessly tie in samples, and suggest precise wording for audit documentation. With ease, I provide comprehensive assessments of the risks that will have a significant impact on financial statements and the organisation as a whole, drawing direct links from observed risks to the response required for the audit.

You may be wondering about data privacy and security. I am leveraged of the latest OpenAI and Anthropic model utilising the direct API. Data privacy and security are paramount at OpenAI and Anthropic. Here's a brief insight into the company's Data Privacy Policy:

1. OpenAI and Anthropic doesn't hold data from the interactions for longer than 30 days. This limited retention period is strictly for content moderation purposes, acting as a safeguard to ensure OpenAI's products are not being used for harmful or illicit purposes.

2. The data exchanged during communications isn't used to improve any models or further our AI's development. This ensures that your audit findings, discussions, and related data remain confidential and are not used to influence or modify OpenAI or Anthropic products in any way.

3. At OpenAI and Anthropic, regular audits are performed internally to ensure strict adherence to the data security standards. This help in maintaining transparency and trust in the data handling processes.

4. Further, robust encryption methods are utilised during the data storage and transmission phases, providing an additional layer of security to protect confidential information.
